UPC 9-ball: Top 4 Qualify for GB 9 Ball Tour!

GB9

The UPC are once again pleased to announce that those reaching the semi-finals of our upcoming UPC Nine-ball Pool Individual Championships 2011-12, will also automatically qualify for the GB 9 Ball Tour, Britain's official professional 9 ball pool tour. See www.gb9balltour.com for more details about the GB9.

This is a fantastic opportunity for players at university level to be a part of a leading 9-ball tour, and play alongside three individual World Champions and all of the World Team Champions from 2010, in prestige venue conditions, and further extends the player pathways that the UPC are creating for players at this level.

With Barceló Hotels hosting the events, the tour is played in outstanding 4-star venues. All matches are played on the world's best pool tables custom built by SAM for GB9. With Simonis 860 cloth and Aramith TV Pro Cup balls providing the finishing touches, GB9 offers players the best playing experience possible.

Indeed, current tour players dominate the top 16 rankings of the Euro Tour and of course European players have been dominating all of the major international events. With such a strong field of proven international stars GB9 is the world's toughest and most exciting national pool tour and the only one to feature a staggering three individual World Champions and all of the World Team Champions 2010!

The tour has cemented itself as the toughest and most respected national pool tour in Europe with a line up of players other nations can only envy, such as: 2007 World 9-ball champion Daryl Peach; former European no.1 Mark Gray; 2008 World 10-ball champion Darren Appleton; 2008 Wheelchair World 8-ball Champion Tony Southern; London's finest Imran Majid and Raj Hundal; and snooker legend Tony Drago to name but a few.

However, the GB9 introduced an exciting format with many advantages over the previous tours, including: guaranteed prize money* with a prize fund at each tour stop of £12,700; two separate divisions offering improved prize money potential for all standards of players; matches drawn and match times published in advance of tournaments; incentives for players of all abilities.

Of course, if you don't make it to our semi-finals, you may still wish to enter the GB 9 Ball Tour's main qualifying events, as follows:

  • GB9 Midlands Qualifier - 8 January 2012 - Venue TBC.
  • GB9 Northern Qualifier - 15 January 2012 - Venue TBC.
  • GB9 Southern Qualifier - 22 January 2012 – Venue TBC.
