Draw & Preview: BUCS-UPC Nine-ball Pool Championships 2017-2018

The university pool season commences with the BUCS-UPC Nine-ball Pool Championships. Again in collaboration with the GB 9 Ball Tour (GB9), this year the tournament returns to the excellent Park Inn by Radisson, Telford over the weekend of 23-26 November 2017. This year’s event sees 178 players and 58 teams from 24 universities competing in one of the country’s largest 9-ball events; defending Team Champions Exeter will be returning, aiming to retain their silverware, however they will face stiff competition from a variety of angles. The individual championship will also have its “favourites”, but is wide open with last year’s winner, Tom Barrett (Nottingham) now graduated, and the excitement of the live random draw from the last-32 onwards.

The UPC is delighted that our partnership with the GB9 (Britain’s official professional 9 ball pool tour, regarded by many as “The toughest national tour on the planet!”) enables us to offer such fantastic playing conditions to the student population.

In line with our other events, the Event Preview now comes in the form of an interactive discussion on our social media sites – please join/follow our Facebook and Twitter sites join the debate about who may, or may not, be victorious this year!
