The weekend of 29-30th April 2016 saw the culmination of the university pool season as the Student Eight-ball Pool Home Internationals descended upon The Clayton Hotel, Belfast. The Student Home Internationals brings together the finest players currently playing pool in, and studying at, UK and Ireland universities. The students form national representative teams, based upon their country of study, from England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland, to compete in both team and individual competition.
Ireland Students took their first team title for some years after they overcame England Students in a close final that finished 11-8.
In the Student International Masters, David Farrell followed up his victory at the BUCS-UPC Eight-ball Pool Championships by retaining the title that he won for the first time last year, defeating Andrew Maguire 4-1 in a very engaging final.
