The UPC are pleased to release all the entry information in relation to this season’s BUCS-UPC Eight-ball Pool Championships, to be staged at Vauxhall Holiday Park by Parkdean Resorts, Great Yarmouth. The finest student players from all parts of the UK will convene over the weekend of 6th-9th February 2020 to compete in both team and individual competitions on behalf of their universities at the country’s most prestigious English eight-ball pool arena, where many of the top mainstream pool events are held throughout the season.

Teams are made up of a maximum of six players, five of which play in a match

Due to a change in the BUCS administration system, there are now two dates that must be adhered to:
Tuesday 21st January 2020: Deadline for Students to Register on BUCS Play
Thursday 23rd January 2020: AU’s submit on BUCS Play and Team Detail Forms sent to Tournament Director

There is NO LATE ENTRY PERIOD for this event
Entries received after the closing date WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
Accommodation: The composite entry fee includes accommodation on Wednesday 5th February. This will allow an earlier Captain’s briefing and tournament start time on Thursday 6th February.
Late Entry: There is NO LATE ENTRY PERIOD for this event. The entry deadline(s) given above will be strictly adhered to.
Entry Limit – BUCS-UPC Men’s Eight-ball Pool Championships: A maximum of 128 men’s teams will be accepted and preference will be given to first teams, then second teams, etc then to institutions highest in the competition rankings.
For example, if 140 entries are received comprised of 60 first teams, 40 second teams, 40 third teams and 10 fourth teams then all of the first teams, all of the second teams and then the third teams of the 28 highest-ranked institutions would be accepted (with the 29th-highest ranked third team being first reserve, the 30th-highest ranked third team being second reserve, etc).
There is no limit on space for women’s teams at the event.
Spectators: Spectators must have accommodation booked for them on site. Spectator accommodation costs £68.25 and must be booked using the Spectator Accommodation Booking Form.
Practice Tables: When the tables are available for practice they will be set to freeplay. Usual rules about not practicing during tournament play still apply.
Equipment: We will again be using Pro-cup cueballs for all competitions.
Individual Championship and Trophy: All players who are members of a team (or who are entering as an individual from an institution not sending a team) will automatically be entered into the respective Individual Championships/Trophy; reserves are NOT entered unless promoted.
All first team and unattached players are entered into their respective Individual Championships, while players from a non-first team will by default enter into their respective Individual Trophies (providing there are sufficient players for the Trophy to go ahead; if not all entries play at Championship level). Should a non-first team player wish to move up to Championship level, they can request to do so by emailing the Tournament Director.
