The UPC is pleased to release all the entry information in relation to this season’s BUCS-UPC Snooker Championships, which is staged as part of the UPC programme for the second time and is once again held across both McCluskey’s (Spondon Snooker Club) and Cueball in Derby. The finest student players from all parts of the UK will convene over the weekend of 12th to 15th March 2020 to compete in both team and individual competitions on behalf of their universities.
BUCS-UPC Snooker Championships
Individual Championship & Trophy: 12-14 March 2020
Team Championship, Trophy, Shield & Plate: 13-15 March 2020
Teams are made up of a maximum of six players, five of which play in a match
Composite Entry Fee: £33.75 per person
(covers both team and individual entry, accommodation will not be provided)

Due to a change in the BUCS administration system, there are now two dates that must be adhered to:
Tuesday 3rd March 2020: Deadline for Students to Register on BUCS Play
Thursday 5th March 2020: AU’s submit on BUCS Play and Team Detail Forms sent to Tournament Director

There is NO LATE ENTRY PERIOD for this event
Entries received after the closing date WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
Entry Limit – BUCS-UPC Snooker Championships: A maximum of 52 teams will be accepted and preference will be given to first teams, then second teams, etc then to institutions highest in the competition rankings.
For example, if 60 entries are received comprised of 25 first teams, 15 second teams, 10 third teams and 10 fourth teams then all of the first teams, all of the second teams and then the third teams of the 12 highest-ranked institutions would be accepted (with the 13th-highest ranked third team being first reserve, the 14th-highest ranked third team being second reserve, etc).
Venue Allocations: Some players might be lucky in so much as playing all of their matches in one venue for the whole event, but scheduling will be done such that nobody has to change venue more than once on the Friday and once on the Saturday (nobody at all will have to change venues on the Thursday or the Sunday) and where venue changes are necessary these will be coordinated between venues. A schedule will be posted when the draw is published.
Individual Championship and Trophy: All players who are members of a team (or who are entering as an individual from an institution not sending a team) will automatically be entered into the respective Individual Championships/Trophy; reserves are NOT entered unless promoted.
All first team and unattached players are entered into their respective Individual Championships, while players from a non-first team will by default enter into their respective Individual Trophies (providing there are sufficient players for the Trophy to go ahead; if not all entries play at Championship level). Should a non-first team player wish to move up to Championship level, they can request to do so by emailing the Tournament Director.
